The eBuddy website: Time for a change?

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Hey there,

Over the past years, the eBuddy website has evolved together with all our messengers. If you are a long time eBuddy user, you might recognize these :-)

eBuddy Website Revolution

The current eBuddy website has already been around for 3 years and we think it’s time for some change. And who better to ask for fresh ideas than YOU … our loyal users that see and use our website every day.

We’d love to hear about what you think & get some ideas for improvement.

Tell us what you think of our website here

Your time & input is greatly appreciated :-)

Thanks,

Yi-Ling

Introducing: Partnership with LG

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

This is a big one… we’re officially announcing a partnership with one of the larger electronics companies in the world:
LG Electronics. :-D

Our already immensely popular eBuddy Mobile Messenger, surpassing a whopping 20 million downloads last week, will be pre-installed on at least 1.5 million handsets in the Asia-Pacific area. To be more specific, that’s India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia,Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia.

No downloading, no installation, just start up the phone and you get instant access to eBuddy on any of these phones:

LG eBuddy Devices

These are the LG Cookie (LG-KP500), LG Arena (LG-KM900), the LG-KS360 and the LG Renoir (LG-KC910i).

So we’re not starting with one, not with two, but with four phones.
And this is just a start, more phones will be announced soon.

If you’re in the Asia Pacific area: check out any of these phones, coming to a shop near you soon!

Cheers,

JJ

Thanks! eBuddy has won a Crunchie award because of you.

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

It took a bit of getting over the party of the weekend before I could manage to write this post. But it was worth it, because…WE WON!!!.

We won the award for best international startup company because you, you and you all voted for us,
So thanks Andy, Kees, Adesh, Gunther, Araz, Chiara, Alecio, Jerome, Yousof, and all the other thousands of people around the world that took the effort of voting for us.

Check out Onno and Paulo receiving the award and holding a speech (”I want to thank our developers, our investors, my wife..etc”): fastforward this movie to 40 minutes to see what happened:
Stream videos at Ustream

Pretty cool to be standing on stage together with companies such as Facebook, Google and Twitter.

Here’s a list of all the winners

Cheers,

JJ

eBuddy at Next Web conference

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Last Friday, the Next Web conference was held in Tuschinski theatre in Amsterdam.

Inspiring speakers from influential companies all over the world, including Netvibes, Plazes, Yahoo!, Techcrunch, Adobe, Digg (via IM) were present to give their view on, or demo the newest of the newest in Web 2.0.

eBuddy was present too (of course ;-) )! Onno, one of the three founders of eBuddy gave a demo of our new web client (in closed beta) and our new mobile messenger (beta still open to sign up). The presentation went very good, but of course at the time of the demo, there was a Wifi problem….Murphy was present.
Nonetheless, we got a big ‘Wow’ out of the critics in the audience.

eBuddy launches Blog!

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Today is an exciting day. We are officially launching our own Blog!

eBuddy has been around for several years. Back in 2003, we started out as a three man company in a dusty attic. Now, we have grown into an international instant messaging company, connecting millions of people around the world – each and every day. Nowadays we’re based in a lovely office on the canals of Amsterdam. My, how we have grown!

During these years we never fully shared our activities with you. As of today this will be different. To keep you all updated, we created our own blog. On this blog we’ll talk about our products, our team and our passions. But more importantly, you’ll be able to talk to us. Get involved by providing us with your valuable feedback and help us to keep improving. Leave your comments to share your ideas and opinions. Use the comment button; that’s what it’s for!

To everybody who stood by us in the past: a massive ‘thank you’ for your support and commitment! eBuddy could not have been this successful without you.

Stay tuned & take care,

The eBuddy team
