As you might have noticed, we updated our interface once again. To improve your trusty chat client we take a long hard look at what you, the user, want and what makes sense from a design perspective.
There are many small fixes throughout the client, both visible and not, but the main enhancements are these:
Personal settings bar
We consolidated all the different network settings into one single entity that we call the personal settings bar, also known as the PSB. Lets take a look at what it looks like:
At the top of the PSB you can see and change your personal message, just clicking on it will enable you to edit it. This personal message is then set on all of your logged on networks. On the left of the personal message you can see and change your current status. Below the personal message you can see and change your display name.
On the right side there is a convenient indicator of network icons, showing you the current state of each of your accounts. Clicking on it will bring you to the settings of each account.
Custom Emoticons
For a long time we have had the ability to receive custom emoticons, now you can also send custom emoticons, a first for web based IM clients! We have added a few funny ones into the insert emoticon window for you to use now.
If you want to use custom emoticons you will need to sign up for an eBuddy ID. With an eBuddy ID you can easily bundle all your seperate accounts (MSN, Yahoo, GTalk, AOL and MySpace etc) into one single, easy to use, account.
Offline messages
We also improved our offline messages support, now available on pretty much all the networks.
All these features enable you to express yourselves even easier then before. Just change your personal message on all networks, send some custom emoticons to your friends and receive messages from friends that you just missed.
I love what you guys are doing. this is what being the best at what you do is all about.

Love this software. Just used my Nintendo Wii to message on-line with my PC in MSN mode. Will have to try it with our PS3. Nice to be able to message from a non-Windows based system

hey buddies, you have done a great job!, but i dont know why, sometimes i cant see the picture that other contacts have on their displays… I hope you fix the problem. or at least give an explanation.

where to find message archive?
Hi I like the new interface but the thing is I have put up a picture on my information page on yahoo and on msn and the pictures don’t show up a lot of the time. Might be good to have them show as I would like people to see who they are chatting to and I would like to see who I am chatting to if someone has put up a picture of themself.

THE NEW ‘EBUUDY’ IS USELESS WHEN EVER I TRY 2 LOG ON, IT WILL EITHER TAKE AGES OR NOT LOG ON ME ON AT ALL! THEN WHEN I DO FINALLY GET ON IT, IT DECIDES TOO START FREEZING EVERYTHING ELSE! ITS USELESS! ANOTHER SITE WILL NOW HAVE 2 B FOUND BY MANY OF US THAT USED 2 USE EBUDDY. UNLESS WE CAN STIL GET ONTO THE OLD EBUDDY, AND IT LETTING US SIGN IN!!!!!!

wow, eBuddy like, kicks ass, but there is a problem, i get disconnected every 5 minutes….why is that ? (i HOPE it’s a problem from my pc )
btw, keep up the good work, make a file-transfer system with ebuddy and everyone will forget YM,AOL etc etc
so, i think you should be able to send and recieve pics when logged in to MSN… like you can on a real MSN server thing……

The offline messages feature haven’t been working lately. I was in the appear offline mode and I couldn’t receive any messages that were sent to me (in both Windows and Linux environments).
It’s a good change, but if you can make possible file transfer it would be gerat…

The huge, animated ads on the right side of the window
are EXTREMELY intrusive, distracting, and aggravating.
Please either remove the ads
or put them back down on the bottom
so I can choose NOT to see them
by putting them below the viewline on my screen.
