Two weeks ago we released eBuddy Mobile Messenger version 1.3. Unfortunately we found some bugs after releasing this version; and a lot of users sent us valuable feedback, that helped us quickly identify the problems. We have been working very hard to get things right again and we released a new version of the Mobile Messenger.
eBuddy Mobile Messenger version 1.4 solves the following common issues:
- On some phones it was impossible to access the ‘Settings’ and to change your Display Name and Custom Message. This shouldn’t be a problem anymore.
- You can view the custom message of your Buddies again via the ‘View Profile’ menu.
- No more duplicate Yahoo! buddies in your list.
To update your version, go to http://get.ebuddy.com with your mobile browser. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey, I really like ebuddy. I use it when at school or on my iPod Touch. When I first saw the mobile app I was impressed, it has many features and has a great layout.
It is one of my favorites. I hope to see more features soon.
I would like the ability to order contact by nicknames in Windows Live Messenger or other accounts. I’d also like the ability to set an avatar and would like to see the name of groups smaller and with the iPod layout. It would be nice if sound alerts play when inside the app; I’m not sure if the play but I haven’t heard them.
You guys have made a great job with this app!
With this version, my Yahoo! Messenger list does not even appear even though it is logged in.

you can download ebuddy from www.getjar.com first choose your mobile type and model then write ebuddy press go and download it as jar then you will find it on your desktop install it on your mobile with pc suite (for free)

also, the better version is if we could have different screen names on different accounts as was the case previously…the new one makes us have the same screen name for all..which i do not personally like and think of the same for others…please rectify for newer versions

When I try to select “blackberry” to download ebuddy on my new mobile, the second step has no choices in the list! Is this intended?

Hello, i have Philips X800 and there is a small problem with ebaddy v1.4.
Sometimes, espessially after loosing a connection the application freeze. - i mean i can’t push any buttons, the phone doesn’t response - so the only way is to switch the phone off. I met this mistake in all versions of ebuddy.
I went from eBuddy 0.99 to 1.4 the other day - I guess I skipped quite a few versions in between… And today, I went back down to 0.99.
I probably would be missing out on some new features - but the biggest problem for me about 1.4 is the huge ads that plastered across the bottom of my friend’s list and whenever I quit the application. I honestly don’t want to be staring at “FREE HOT BABES DOWNLOAD” every time I use eBuddy. I understand the needs for ads, especially considering that this is a free application. But I can’t say I’m entirely too comfortable with seeing them on my screen and it does get a little annoying (the size of the ads in relation to the rest on my scree).
I WAN’T OT GET A ONLINE LIVE SERVICE WITH MSN INTO MY WEBSITE http://www.yorklaser.com but I don’t konw what i do with the ebuddy.

I’m happy to use ur product in my blackberry curve 8320. i’ve been trying ebuddy ver 1.1 and it works round the clock for me…having minimal disconections. i’m impressed with ur work sir.
but i hope u will continue looking into the upgrades of ebuddy in blackberries as it still has many glitches to handle…with a lot more features to add in…such as PTT (push-to-talk) and images attachments from camera.
for ur note sir, recently, i was not able to upgarde my ver 1.1 to 1.4 as ebuddy website has no download option for blackberry…a major setback here sir
pls do look into this matter sir.
hopefully, this software will keep growing further with many fascinating features in it.

great job on the new release. however, i want to highlight a problem that i faced regarding ver1.4.
download and login went smoothly, but once signed in, my contact list show 0 (zero) buddies. note that i have MSN as my only account in my eBuddy ID.
i can access my contact list as usual when i use my eBuddy ID to login from a PC.
can you please look into this matter?

I got an annoying ads such as “FREE VIDEO HOT GIRLS” under my offline list. I’m afraid it will cause viruses to my phone system.. Can I remove those ads ? Thank u..

How do you get your facebook contacts on? Mine says I have 0 ??
For those using the “type directly in chat screen” option i’d recommend turning it off in the settings as you’d have experienced you cant delete a character or correct a typo nor can you scroll between the text.
I’m using the E61 not being able to use back space or the function key when texting on the go is a nightmare whilst using the “type directly in chat screen”option.
I am pretty much peeved off with these ads plastered across the screen under the contact list. Ebuddy 0.99 v didnt have such ads…
if anyone knows where you can “downgrade” to 0.99 v for all phones please post. I know some of us would be very grateful and prefer not to be blasted with ads 24/7.

So an ad free or ad off/on function maynot appear I maybe wrong but what do they gain from doing that? Other then user satisfaction…
features to consider:
1)a vibrate / sound alert when a contact comes online?
2)move current contacts to a group as a menu option
3)enable backspace/clear function when using “type directly in chat screen” mode
4)a feature to lock a tab so its possible to scroll through text to correct a mistake

heyyy ive got a Nokia E71, n i jst downloaded ebuddy yestrday. I luv it becoz its so neat n pretty, but one thing i hate iz da POP-UP ads that keeps comin up! Its Freggin annoyning mann!!!! Please fix it, coz its so frustratinggg! Andparenylt my friend’s diesnt do dat!! So more pissed!!! Iz it coz i’m using optus internet? I have some problem about eBuddy Mobile Messengger. My phone is SE G705, when I use eBuddy to login my msn where the address is “xxx@live.com”. The “xxx@hotmail.com”(mobile client) can send message to “xxx@live.com”(pc client), but “xxx@live.com” can’t send to “xxx@hotmail.com”. But when “hotmail” send to “live”, I saw the icon at the top right is worked. But still have any message come in. It’s a big problem to me. Can you help me to solve the problem? Thank you very much!

First of all, great work, impressive software. I use it on a Nokia N79, no speed problems, no freezing, works perfectly.
Let me note some features, which you may consider to build into the next versions:
- setting a profile image from the phone’s storage (not only from camera)
- send/receive files
- some compatibility with Windows Live Messenger Plus features (text style, color, etc.)

yeah i really like this app but sometimes it doesnt show my contacts when i sign in I’m not sure if this is a network problem or not and alot of the times i have to constantly retype my nickname and personal message everytime i sign in and i can’t keep the application open when i am doing other things on the phone and sometimes it crashes….those are some of the problems ive oticed but like i said there are alot of good things about it too…

anyone know why when i sign in my yahoo messenger account I get to go online. but i cant see any of my yahoo messenger contacts in my ebuddy mobile. but for my gtalk and facebook accounts, my friends list shows.

I never seen eBuddy fast posting text like other applications, such mig33, nimbuz, shMessenger.. they are very fast text posting… eBuddy always slow sending/recieving text posting. FIX IT YOUR GATEWAY SERVER !!!

hi, i upgraded my ebuddy to the latest (v1.4) . everything was well but when i logged on to YM, none of my contacts would appear. but it says that i’m logged in! how is this?
Phone: Nokia 6085 with AT&T.
I can’t use the camera/snap shot function. I don’t get an error. The camera comes up to take a snap shot. But the ‘Snap’ is greyed out. Nothing happens.

My phone model is Nokia 6500s and have noticed that the latest version 1.4 doesn’t work too well on my phone as the contact lists - be it MSN, Yahoo, Facebook, etc, do not load sometimes even when I am logged in.

I own a Sony Ericsson W300i and happily updated my eBuddy 1.4 to 1.4.2 yesterday only to get the message “Connection failed” from eBuddy 1.4.2 over and over again at startup while all other java apps and mobile internet work fine. I like eBuddy and previous version worked fine so I am very disappointed!
