eBuddy wishes you Happy New Year!

Dear eBuddy Chat and XMS users,

Today we would like to look back at the great year of 2012 that we have had and thank all of you for being with us.

Both eBuddy products, Chat and XMS reached significant milestones this year.

eBuddy Chat for Android has reached 10 million downloads from Google Play. Also, eBuddy Mobile Messenger has reached 50 million downloads on the Nokia store, becoming one out of 5 applications to have ever reached this milestone.

We have introduced some exciting features in our products: users can now update their Facebook status with pictures directly from eBuddy Mobile Messenger. Also there is no longer a need to an eBuddy ID as you can link all your chat networks directly. For eBuddy Web Messenger users we have launched Chrome extension that offers easier login and instant notifications on new messages.

We are grateful to all our Facebook followers for their support: eBuddy Chat Facebook page has reached 4 million fans on Facebook this year, which puts us in the top 5 Dutch pages on Facebook. Thank you very much!

eBuddy XMS, our real-time messaging application for smartphones, expanded its reach to Nokia S40 and S60 phones featuring group messaging and picture sending on these platforms. We have also developed some great features for iOS and Android XMS apps that allow you to find XMS friends nearby and add stickers to your photos. This year we have updated Web XMS with a phone number login option and launched Web XMS Chrome application. Last but not the least, the final news of 2012 is that we have won the 2012 Top Apps Award from the Opera Mobile store.

Furthermore, eBuddy as a company has undergone some changes as well: we have introduced the corporate identity and launched the new website. The international team of eBuddy keeps growing: we are now more than 28 nationalities. Our commitment to support foreign employees was recognized by the Expat Employer of the Year award, which we won in June.

It has been a great year and we are looking forward to 2013. We would like to wish you and your closest ones all the best in the New Year!

Happy New Year!

Stephanie Posted on Great! Awesome!1st up the wedding china my mohetr gave me 18 years ago, while saying, with a VERY disappointed voice Well since it seems that you aren’t getting married any time soon, I might as well give this to you now. I’ve been carrying them around, thru 3 moves, thinking that I ought to keep them, that I would somehow curse myself or jinx myself if I got rid of them..that I would indeed end up alone.Guess what? Yep, I am still single. I’ve had a couple of relationships between then and now, but the end result? The dishes are not magical and I don’t have to expend any energy trying to make myself feel better about the dishes so that I can keep them. So, I am hereby embracing the real possibility that I may never be married and commit the dishes to craigslist, may they be gone in a wink and trouble me no more LOL!Thank you for the entertaining video about a serious subject.

Posted on There’s a scene in the classic film Cool Hand Luke where Luke, paelyd by Paul Newman, gets into a fight with the biggest, baddest, dude in the work camp. He really doesn’t stand a chance, but there’s really no way out.He gets knocked down, hard, but picks himself back up. Then he gets knocked down again. And gets up again. And again. And again. Before long, everyone in the gathered crowd is yelling for him to just stay down, but he keeps getting back up.He won that fight, not by beating the other guy, but by winning over the crowd and by not giving up.I used a variation of this tactic once upon a time. Some dude tried to pick a fight with me by telling me I danced like an idiot. Well, he was right. I looked ridiculous out there on the dance floor. This wasn’t news to me. So I agreed with him. He kept trying to insult me along the same lines, but, since I wasn’t really offended by his observation at all, I kept agreeing with him.Needless to say, he got very frustrated and the gathered crowd quickly got bored. He just walked away. And I went back to dancing like a fool.

provision has likewise been reeealpd by RA 9266DPWH Answer to Preliminary InjunctionRA 9266 was approved on March 17, 2004 while RA 544, PD 1096 and Ministry Order 57 were approved in 1950, 1977 and 1978, respectively. In case of irreconcilable conflict between two laws, the later enactment must prevail. That RA 9266 has reeealpd the other laws is evident from Section 46 of RA 9266.DPWH Answer to Preliminary InjunctionPD 1096 is a general law as it deals with the practice of various professions, while RA 9266 is a special law because it deals exclusively with the practice of architecture. It is a finely-imbedded principle that a special provision of law prevails over a general one.DPWH Answer to Preliminary InjunctionThe Revised IRR did not amend nor supplant the laws promulgated by the legislature. The Revised IRR is consistent and in harmony with the pertinent provisions of RA 9266.DPWH Answer to Preliminary InjunctionIt is erroneous to claim that the Revised IRR is null and void because it gives architects the exclusive right to prepare, sign and seal architectural documents. It is the legislature by virtue of RA 9266 which gives duly licensed architects the exclusive right to prepare, sign and seal architectural documents.Understanding RA 9266Section 20. Seal, Issuance and Use of Seal. A duly licensed architect shall affix the seal prescribed by the Board bearing the registrant’s name, registration number and the title Architect on all architectural plans, drawings, specifications and all other contract documents prepared by or under his/her direct supervision.Understanding RA 9266Section 20(2) No officer or employee of this Republic, chartered cities, provinces and municipalities, now or hereafter charged with the enforcement of laws, ordinances or regulations relating to the construction or alteration of buildings, shall accept or approve any architectural plans or specifications which have not been prepared and submitted in full accord with all the provisions of this Act; nor shall any payments be approved by any officer for any work, the plans and specifications for which have not been so prepared and signed and sealed by the author.Understanding RA 9266Section 20(5) All architectural plans, designs, drawings and architectural documents relative to the construction of a building shall bear the seal and signature only of an architect registered and licensed under this Act together with his/her professional identification number and the date of its expiration.Understanding RA 9266Section 25 No person shall practice architecture in this country, or engage in preparing architectural plans, specifications or preliminary data for the erection or alteration of any building located within the boundaries of this country, or use the title Architect , or display the word Architect together with another word, or use any title, sign, card, advertisement, or other devise to indicate such person practices or offers to practice architecture, or is an architect, unless such person shall have received from the Board a Certificate of Registration and be issued a Professional Identification Card. Understanding RA 9266Section 29 Prohibition in the Practice of Architecture and Penal Clause. Any person who shall practice or offer to practice architecture in the Philippines without being registered/licensed and who are not holders of temporary or special permits in accordance with the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of misdemeanor and charged in court by the Commission Exclusive to ArchitectsPractice architecture in the PhilippinesEngage in preparing architectural plans, specifications or preliminary data for the erection or alteration of any building located within the boundaries of the PhilippinesUse the title Architect Display the word Architect together with another wordDisplay or use any title, sign, card, advertisement, or other device to indicate such person practices or offers to practice architecture, or is an architectRevisiting PD 1096 and Ministry Order No. 57Section 302 of P.D. 1096 and Section 3.2 of Ministry Order No. 57 (Old IRR) requires the submittal to the Building Official of five (5) sets of plans and specifications prepared, signed and sealed by a duly licensed architect or civil engineer, in case of architectural and structural plans.Revisiting Section 2 of RA 544Section 2, RA 544 The practice of civil engineering within the meaning and intent of this Act shall embrace services in the form of consultation, design, preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, erection, installation and supervision of construction of streets, bridges, highways, railroads, airports and hangars, portworks, canals, river and shore improvements, lighthouses, and dry docks; buildings, fixed structures for irrigation, flood protection, drainage, water supply and sewerage works, demolition of permanent structures, and tunnels. Revisiting Section 23 of RA 544Section 23, RA 544 It shall be unlawful for any person to order or otherwise cause the construction, reconstruction, or alteration of any building or structure intended for public gathering or assembly such as theaters, cinematographs, stadia, churches or structures of like nature, and any other engineering structures mentioned in section two of this Act unless the designs, plans and specifications of the same have been prepared under the responsible charge of, and signed and sealed by a registered civil engineer, and unless the construction, reconstruction and/or alteration thereof are executed under the responsible charge and direct supervision of a Civil Engineer. Why DPWH Answer is WrongThe DPWH answer presumes that the PICE case is that civil engineers can prepare, sign and seal architectural plans and documents .The PICE case is: Civil Engineers should not be prevented from practicing civil engineering which includes preparing, signing and sealing building plans and documents. Why DPWH Answer is WrongIt is immaterial whether PD 1096 and Ministry Order NO. 57 has been reeealpd by RA 9266 because it is RA 544 (not PD 1096) that gives civil engineers the right to prepare, sign and seal building plansRA 9266 has not reeealpd Sections 2 and 23 of RA 544 because these sections are not inconsistent with RA 9266 as they do not state that civil engineers can prepare, sign and seal architectural plans or documents (There is nothing to repeal). Why DPWH Answer is WrongSections 2 and 23 of RA 544 clearly states that the preparation, signing and sealing of building plans are within the scope of practice of civil engineering. Therefore, the PICE case hinges on the proper interpretation of the term building plans .The PICE position is that the term building plans include all plans of buildings. Why DPWH Answer is WrongArchitects claim that the term building plans in RA 544 means structural building plans If this is the case, why is that not what is stated? If this is the case, why is it that civil engineers have been preparing, signing and sealing complete building plans for thousands of years, without any legal challenge? Why DPWH Answer is WrongThe DPWH answer is totally dependent on the premise that RA 9266 is relevant to this case. This will only be true if the case is about the practice of architecture. The PICE case is not about the practice of architecture but about the practice of civil engineering. Therefore, RA 9266 is irrelevant, and the applicable law is RA 544.RA 9266 Cannot Justify the Revised IRRSection 43, RA 9266 This Act shall not be construed to affect or prevent the practice of any other legally recognized profession. RA 9266 does not affect the scope of practice of Civil EngineeringSection 46 of RA 9266 – Republic Act No. 545, as amended by Republic Act No. 1581, is hereby reeealpd and all other laws, orders and regulations or resolutions or part/s thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby reeealpd or modified accordingly does not repeal or modify RA 544 for the following reasons:No provision of RA 544 is inconsistent with RA 9266, because RA 544 does not authorize civil engineers to prepare, sign and seal architectural plans and documentsDPWH Answer to Preliminary InjunctionDPWH Answer to Preliminary InjunctionWhy DPWH Answer is WrongThe PICE position is that all existing laws must be enforced, including RA 9266, PD 1096 and RA 544.The DPWH position is correct only if RA 9266 is the applicable law to this case.If RA 544 is the applicable law, then the revised IRR deprives civil engineers of a right vested upon them by law.Since the PICE case is about the practice of civil engineering and not the practice of architecture, the relevant law is RA 544.DPWH Answer to Preliminary InjunctionDPWH answer states that laws are adopted to make sure that the plans specifications and other documents to be submitted for the issuance of a building permit are prepared, signed and sealed by competent professionals who possess the required skills, knowledge and expertise on the matter to safeguard life, health, property and public welfare. Why DPWH Answer is WrongCivil Engineers have prepared, signed and sealed building plans for thousands of years, with distinctionThere has never been a legal challenge, much less a decision, questioning this right of civil engineersThere has never been a single case, much less a decision, that civil engineers are a threat to life, health, property or public welfareIt is an insult to the civil engineering profession to question the competence of civil engineers to prepare, sign and seal building plansIt is an insult to the civil engineering profession to accuse civil engineers of being threats to life, health, property or public welfareConclusionCivil Engineers cannot practice architectureArchitects cannot practice civil engineeringWhen a Civil Engineer prepares, signs and seals building plans, he is practicing Civil Engineering, not ArchitectureThe only law applicable relevant to Civil Engineers is RA 544.RA 9266 is irrelevant because it affects only the practice of Architecture, not Civil EngineeringThe Revised IRR prevents Civil Engineers from practicing Civil Engineering

Hi JossEnjoyed the read above, and the comment my mate Paul put on here :) As the lead dev for Hubbbie, and milutple other systems, there is a reason for the noreply mail addresses: many mail hosts, such as Yahoo, Hotmail, etc, actually allow more mail through with SPF acknowledged DNS settings as well as, you guessed it, it being a noreply@ address. Reason? If a bounce back occurs to the noreply, the mail server actually know it shouldn’t go through and automatically re-route it to the trash :) This is all to mitigate unneeded mail in inboxes, as one would want actual mail to come through, such as your example of a template getting messed up. That is why we have the support@ mail address. I actually haven’t come across one user who didn’t know that they should forward queries to support@ and not noreply@. And 99% of users know that if it is a noreply@ address, not to reply to it, as the name is pretty self-explanatory and its basically breeding a culture around e-mail system usage by having everyone join in and use this type of system.True, the hello@ and info@ etc etc mailboxes are useful for first contact, but who would reply to a e-mail saying that they just received a invite request? What would the content of their reply be firstly? If, for instance, your bank sends you a text message that you have withdrawn over a certain amount, would you want to reply to it? :)

Honestly, I feel ok with no-reply e-mails when they are used wisely. For a sign-up aparpvol or you got a new follower e-mail, no-reply works fine as there is nothing personal and usually anything to discuss about. But, for an order details e-mail after a checkout, there can be much to discuss like a mis-placed item in the shopping cart, wrong-shipping address, etc. and the ability to reply instantly makes sense as the content of the e-mail has something to reply for (which is the main point of my thought). Also, ideally, it would be awesome to contact/reach to the support/developers of an app. by replying any e-mail however, in reality, many web apps are created by small teams and trying to minimize/categorize the support requests mean a lot.Depending on the app and community (for ex: Hotmail, Gmail, Facebook etc.), it is sometimes a good idea to get users to a knowledgebase page before getting a direct e-mail as it works better and faster for both parts. To sum up, imho, no-reply is not evil and sometimes a clear statement that lets me know that this is not the way to contact the support which I can understand. But sometimes, it can be an ignorant way of not wanting to get any e-mails like Joss states. So, please use it wisely :) .

Meron na bang Official Statement ang PRC at Board of Examiners nyo? Malian daw namin kahit isa o dalawa. Kasi nga skeptical ang PRC kapag perfect ang score mo (which is really unfair if you really answered it without cheating or so). The situation really sucks. Meron kasing proctors na mahigpit, as in lahat chinecheck sa katawan mo. Let’s just keep on praying that things will go according to what is right and what God wills.God bless us all!

Yes, E&B had an Indian support staff. Go EA! I don’t actually see anything wrong with this in principle. If it were an Indian MMO with a support team in the US would that be unacceptable?Of course in practice Indian customer service centres have tended to be cheap and terrible. The issue however is that they’re terrible customer service centres and they would not magically become great ones if the MMO were based in India.

I hope this is still a good morning to eneyrove. This is an outrage!

If the lighting system must be embedded into a really inaccessible place, utilizing LEDs would nearly get rid of the necessity for routine bulb replacement.?

What happens next is the key, of course; Wells’s door is an escape to a better place and the narrator rues the fact that he can no longer locate it. I’ve always assumed Neverwhere is about anxieties of urban living, really, and is, for all its colour, a pretty horrible place. Which way would you be tempted to go, I wonder? Utopia or Dys?(Great blog, by the way; I got here via a recommendation of Amardeep Singh on his blog.)

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I find that, if I just write a LOT, then I’m less likely to have wretir’s block. It also helps to have several projects going on at once if you get blocked in one project, you can move to the next one.We also did rush writes in a workshop I took. We’d be given a subject (such as a childhood memory ) and then write non-stop for five minutes. I have my own version that I use some mornings: I open a newspaper and find some small headline on page B-13 or so, and then I do a rush write about it. Sometimes it turns out to be creative writing, sometimes philosophical musings, and sometimes I end up on a completely different subject than I started with. Usually I end up with garbage, but the exercise does seem to apply a bit of neurological WD-40 to the old noggin. As for blogging? When I can’t think of anything to write, I just provide links to blogs of people who did think of something to write, thus sparing my readers of the Ho hum, I’m bored and tired posts that I sometimes start to write.

Thanks Dave! Elizabeth was heavily midefoid for me tonight. I did front squats with 75lbs instead of cleans and ring dips with my feet on a box. Still reached failure early (10 consecutive was my longest stretch) and often on the ring dips. The front squats were heavy enough that I was feeling them by the end, but not heavy enough to really tax me, or make me worry I couldn’t finish a lift. Which is probably good for my first time out. 10:34

I love how I always can tell when Doug pukes. Hahaha. I just had a fnileeg it was going to be one of those days. There were some CRAZY PRs this morning from the 8:30 and 11:30 classes. Josh G. got a 100# PR on the deadlift. Did you read that? 100 freaking pounds!!!Kate P, Brad, and Kate all had huge lifts this morning too! Eric and Jeff M both broke 1,000. I know I’m leaving others out and I don’t mean too. So proud of everyone!I, on the other hand, reeked. I got a 2.5# PR on my back squat (baby woot), 10# less than my PR on the press, and 20# less than my PR on the deadlift. Something. Is. Wrong. With. Me. I couldn’t lift at the challenge either. Huge thanks to Eric for sticking around and coaching me through everything this morning. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have gotten my 2.5# PR on the back squat.Back to Oly lifting tomorrow. Gotta stick to the plan!

We admit. We have our faults for being childish.

Mitzi I can answer this beusace my family lives down there! You are outside of my color planting schedule by about a month. The trick is, Las Vegas gets so hot in the summer, but you can grow almost all winter long. My book is really for a spring-summer-fall planting schedule. The dates I offer might work for you and others who live in warmer climates, but really have a spring-summer and a fall-winter season. I am very aware of your needs, and it’s on my list of things to research and write about. But honestly, I can’t speak from experience, only from my research. I encourage you to contact your local extension service (www.extension.org) for a recommended planting schedule.

Things i have seen in terms of pc memory is the fact that there are specs such as SDRAM, DDR or anything else, that must match up the technical specs of the mother board. If the pc’s motherboard is fairly current while there are no operating system issues, updating the memory space literally normally takes under a couple of hours. It’s among the easiest computer system upgrade processes one can visualize. Thanks for expressing your ideas.
