@Rueben This seems to be a problem with Facebook itself; it shows your friends online for some time while they’ve already closed their browser. It would also explain why you have the same problem on your PC. Not much we can do I’m afraid.

@Choccy Sometimes Facebook does have some small problems with their chat feature, so it may be related to that. Could you send an e-mail with your Facebook username and a description of what you did and what went wrong to feedback@ebuddy.com? Thanks!

The Facebook element of ebuddy seems to work fine until you try and chat with somebody. They seem to be unable to reply or receive any messages through the ebuddy system.

This seems to have coincided with the launch of the “new and improved” faceboock chat on the site. Since they have added this “Groups” idea to the chat, Ebuddy can no longer connect to the chat system properly…
As per usual, no-one from Facebook seems to know the phrase “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”
I do hope the bods at Ebuddy can work around this, as I used to relly on Ebuddy to arrange my evenings with friends on the long train ride home of an evening!

When i log into facebook, on the computer and on my blackberry, it says “error:You have been signed out, without any further notice.” what is going on here? I downloaded this onto my phone so I can use it for Facebook and it doesn’t even work! Help!!
What the hell. Facebook chat doe not work on eBuddy. You make so much hype about supporting Facebook chat. But it never worked, so what the hell. I tried ti sign in, and it says invalid username or password. Believe me, I know what my facebook username and password is! I tried it 5 times, all with same result. I could not have typed it in wrong 5 times.
So please take all the hype of supporting facebook chat of ur websites until u guys can actually get the software to work!

I would kindly request that you please inform us of the problems that you are facing, and if there is any chance of a solution, as since the facebook chat ability had been “damaged” I haven’t bothered to use Ebuddy at all, as all my online contacts are on Facebook, not MSN or Yahoo, etc.

yeah well in my case its started as invalid username or password that wouldnt let me sign in…. Then it went to say that i had a disconnected acoount…. NOW!!!! It says that facebook wont accpet the sign in off ebuddy…. What on Earth does that mean… Looking forward to sum answers soon as this has been goihg for well over a month now…..GGGRRRRRRRR

How can one small change cause such a problem? I’ve never been able to use facebook through ebuddy, but i’ve only had the app for a month or so. I’ve had the same problem as the rest, first it was “invalid username” now it’s “facebook won’t allow connection through ebuddy” i really hope they can sort it.
I’ve updated to the latest version of Ebuddy and its worse than before (version 1.2)
Facebook chat, although I am online - I appear off line to the person I am talking to and they cannot talk to me.
Also the screen blanks out after a short time just showing the “3″ internet connection at top left hand corner, this blanking out after a short while annoys me, it blanks out before the preset blank out time I have set on phone.

I think we have probally all gathered that the FB chat issue is effecting a large number of people now… So, instead of parroting everyone else and saying ‘my FB chat Ain’t workin’! ‘ im going to ask…. Is there any solution / response to the problem as of yet?

Hey everyone - I HAVE THE ANSWER.
As many people on this forum have, I have downloaded eBuddy (for my Sony Ericsson W995) and then come across the date of birth issue when trying to get Facebook Chat to work on it.
As mentioned by many others above, it specifically tells you how to type it (ie: the American format of month/date/year - 05/08/1984) but it doesn’t work. Nor does it work if you switch it around to the English way.
However, I tried one last thing and now it works perfectly.. I put “May/08/1984″.
TYPE THE MONTH AS A WORD AND YOU SHOULD BE OKAY.

Ok guys here’s my run down on my thoughts so far.. i made my own review which got posted on the blog last year about my k800i.. WORKED great.. i have upgraded since (ofcourse) to my Nokia 5800 express music touch screen phone.. application installed and runs like a treat.. but yes theres a but it wont connect to the internet so it wont run past the installing Ebuddy page i’m sure i dont have to tell the people that use this application on there nokia 5800 mobiles what my problem is can you guys or anybody tell me how i can get Ebuddy to connect to the internet this was a must have on all my mobiles and suddenly i cant use it so im forced to use windows live which runs flawlessly on my phone but i would prefer to use Ebuddy.. Now .. most of my application ask me what i want to connect to via wifi or payg i use payg on the move wifi at home or when i can leach on someones connection outside LOL .. or mac donalds 24/h wifi behind my house (EVEN BETTER) my point is Ebuddy wont connect full stop and there is no feuture implimented on Ebuddy that gives a nice option to choose connectivity which should also be a MUST!! Especially with all the new touch screen wifi phones being released.. It would be nice if someone out there can address my solution. It would be even nicer if one of the blog team or Ebuddy production team could get hold of me via my email which i provided on writing this essay to contact me and give me a hand as to why i cannot connect (hyperlogic@hotmail.co.uk) just incase.

Scrap the above post if anyoe else has issues about java applications and connectivity about connecting them to the internet on the nokia 5800 series heres my solution
Menu > Settings > Application Mgr. > Installed Apps. > Select “Your application” > Options > Suite Settings > Access Point then provide what you use wifi payg etc
THIS IS STUPID AND I DONT KNOW WHY YOU DONT LET US GO ON FACEBOOK:s PEFETTIIICCCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
