Loved the free version so I purchased and installed the Pro version this morning.

I have trouble connecting to AIM, and when I do manage to do so and send a message, the recipient receives a whole bunch of HTML formatting tags along with it.

    Thoughts?

You promised it would be ad free… I bought it and now when I’m logged in, it says “on ebuddy for iphone & ipod touch www.ebuddy.com/iphone” etc.. The only reason I bought it was so it would be ad free..

Since it’s false marketing, I’d like my money back..

Who do all apps are free initially then after awhile + popular, need to pay for extra mini features? The same goes with Palringo and IM+ too. Geez… Off I go with deleting eBuddy now… And installing Fring and others :P

And can’t you just use a short ad? Like “on eBuddy” rather than “on ebuddy for iphone & ipod touch www.ebuddy.com/iphone

  23. Lucas Says: December 6th, 2009 at 5:44 pm

Agreed, you need to get rid of the eBuddy line in the personal message.
It shouldn’t be there in the pro version.

Also you need to fix this bug that doesn’t remember your name, personal message and display picture.

btw, where can I find chat history, i saw the description saying there is chat history in it.

  29. Unhappy Says: December 14th, 2009 at 2:55 pm

You guys blew it with the ebuddy pro idea. $5.99AUD is a rip off for simply removing ads. Think of customers not your back pocket please ebuddy. And to think you can’t even bother putting a simple LANDSCAPE KEYBOARD in for crying out loud. Landscape kEyboArd must be the simplest part of making an app. Ebuddy = FAIL.

  30. Unhappy Says: December 14th, 2009 at 3:00 pm

@Chris. Ebuddy will do nothing about this as they care little about their customers. All they want is money from as little effort as possible. And this marketing strategy fails. Don’t get your hopes up either. Not even a landscape keyboard. Thanks for nothing Esh*tty. I mean. Ebuddy.

EBUDDY PRO SUCKS. Who would want to pay $5.99 for false advertising. “no ads”, yet in your personal message it shows “on ebuddy for iphone & ipod touch”.

The price is extremely expensive. I actually feel sorry for the people who WASTED their money on this.

    Do not support this CRAP.

I’m glad that I didn’t pay a cent for this crap. Jailbreaking ftw. I will actually buy apps that are worth it, but cmon, $5 for *less* ads? Please, sounds a little greedy to me. I’m never supporting greedybuddy. They can go shove their ads up their ass.

hello i a fun of eBuddy.Thank you for your service!!!
I just want to ask i have the latest version on my iphone but next to my name i had this ! xxxxx!
    What is this?

  39. Jim Says: December 20th, 2009 at 11:04 pm

The new Landscape feature is a nice touch, although the blue suggested text bubbles are appearing under the text instead of above it and the keyboard is obscuring them. This is a real problem.

Also, the time it takes to flip from normal to landscape on older iPhones makes having the landscape feature a pain. Whenever I pull the phone out of my pocket it seems to be in the wrong orientation. If I try and change the phone because I’m in a hurry and don’t want to wait for the phone to change to how I’m holding it then I’m always a second behind as it flips just as I turn the phone and is still wrong.

Or if I just wait it is a bother because it seems to take so long to change to how I want it.

There should be an option to DISABLE the landscape keyboard for those of us who wish not to have it at those times.

  42. Dalena Says: December 26th, 2009 at 9:53 am

Hey, I’m reading some of the responses on this page and wow, a lot of negative feedback.

Sorry to have to add a couple more, though this application is pretty great! [:

I have a couple of problems with it though which I’m hoping you will be fixed.

    1. Everytime I sign back in, my Display name would always reset. It’s very annoying, especially when you’re signing in on multiple accounts and people on your MSN list can see all of your other email addresses when the name resets.
    2. Second problem I have with this application is the blocked contacts. In settings, there’s the option to hide your blocked contacts. Even though I set that option to “no” (show blocked contacts), they still go hidden anyway.

Those two are my main issues with the application, but there is another issue I have with this application.

    3. When I send offline messages to my contacts, everytime I re-open the application, the chat window will open again, displaying all of the offline messages I sent even though I’ve closed the chat/conversation window.

I pray that these problems will be fixed soon, and all of the other problems which have been notified on this page.

    Thank you for reading,
    Dalena.

  43. Joyce Says: January 1st, 2010 at 1:15 pm

I’m with Dalena. My display name always gets reseted to back to “Jojo” instead of “J o J o”. Changed it numerous times to “J o J o” but upon exiting and restarting eBuddy, my display name reverted to “Jojo”.

Also, the “on eBuddy for iPhone and iPod Touch” message is way too long for comfort. Please consider changing to shorter “on eBuddy” message as it’s more prefessional looking (not desperately looking for free publicity).

Also, please give us an option to disable auto-landscape. It’s very annoying to have the screen rotating all the time due to slight moment (e.g. lying on the bed).

    Thanks for listening.

Okay, I have this annoying issue, which begins to drive me crazy by the way.
It seems that I’m always online for my contacts, even if I shut off the iPhone application, even if I delete my gtalk account from ebuddy, even if… Well, the fact is : they see me online all the time, I can’t change it, I can’t have a status message on my gtalk account…
So, PLEASE, delete my account, PLEASE, and that remains me : why can’t we delete our account ?

  52. Sagar Says: January 14th, 2010 at 4:59 pm

This problem that you all are having, is consistent with what i’m dealing with as well. The app was deleted from my phone since I no longer needed it, however, my gtalk status is always saying, “on e-buddy for iphone and ipod touch”

it looks as if i’m always signed on which i want fixed as well.

seems like a problem across the board.

  53. Josh Says: January 16th, 2010 at 1:43 pm

Total agree with you all complaining about this app. It has been a total waste of money, and has a major issue with the Gtalk status message being left to the “on eBuddy for iPhone & iPod Touch” while always leaving you Online.

Please share you experience here so that Google may be alerted to this issue as I’m sure it violates their terms and agreements with using their servers http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/chat/thread?tid=39308a0abe4bf6eb&hl=en

    Ebuddy, please fix this issue!

  54. Jitendra Says: January 17th, 2010 at 7:02 am

    Hi Friend,

It funny why anyone will buy the “Pro” version when the free version has this capability to ALWAYS keep you online even if you try to logoff with any means.

Please read the responses from blog entry of 27 Oct 2009, almost half the users already have this PRO facility, so please save your efforts.

  55. Bharat Jogi Says: January 18th, 2010 at 5:06 am

    Hi Guys!!
I found out the solution to the ebuddy not signin out issue on gtalk.
All u need to do is go and change your google account password. I will take some time(approx an hr or 2) and then u`ll logout of your gtalk account from ebuddy.

  56. Jitendra Says: January 19th, 2010 at 5:44 am

    Bharat,
Sorry friend, that solution doesn’t work. I changed the password, deleted the gtalk login details from ebuddy nothing worked.

Now I have to keep logging into ebuddy, to fetch my offline messages, since I am online those message do not land in my mailbox anymore.

The only thing remains is to delete my gmail ID, which is impossible for me.

I just hope ebuddy programmers are listening to this.
