Hello! Welcome to the eBuddy blog. Here we talk about our passion, the team and our products.

Update: We just released a new update (version 1.1), which improves the connection handling even more. Plus, you can get LED notifications on new messages, and you can choose to keep the app icon in the status bar so you know eBuddy is active in the background.

Since we introduced eBuddy IM in the Android Market a little more than a month ago, we’ve been steadily bringing out updates to make your chat experience on Android even better. We got a lot of valuable feedback from you, which really helps us to improve eBuddy. Keep it coming :-) !

Right now we’re at the fourth version: eBuddy IM 1.0.4 – a good time to tell you about the improvements we’ve made so far.

Improvements in eBuddy IM for Android 1.0.4:

  • - Always connected: if your Internet connection is lost, eBuddy IM will keep on trying to reconnect. Also when eBuddy runs in the background.
  • - Notifications in the status bar: when eBuddy is running in the background and you receive a new message (or if something unexpected happens), a notification is shown in the status bar.
  • - Blocked buddies will not show up as online anymore :-P

Lately we’ve had some problems with Facebook chat, and not everything is working perfectly yet, but of course we will keep on improving the application and adding new features. So keep an eye on eBuddy IM in the Android Market!

Ivar

P.S. Haven’t got eBuddy IM on your Android phone yet (e.g. the T-Mobile G1 or Vodafone Magic)? Find us in the Android Market or directly with your barcode scanner:

@cHuEn @cow @Yuxiang A few people have let us know they cannot find the eBuddy app in the Market. Unfortunately this is a common problem in the Market and we have no control over it; only Google can correct this. Please contact Google if you have this problem.

  15. stephen Says: July 1st, 2009 at 2:23 pm

It’s not downloadable on Market guys !

  16. stephen Says: July 1st, 2009 at 2:25 pm

BTW Ivar, you can make the app available directly from your site. This is Android, not an Iphone. There is just an option to set in the phone to be able to install items outside the market

  17. cow Says: July 2nd, 2009 at 2:40 pm

since its free, why not just upload the apk file on your site??

i am using a HTC Tattoo phone and I downloaded the ebuddy from GetJar few days ago. It worked perfectly until today … it says that connection failed!~

Does anyone have the same situation??

Can’t get eBuddy app to log me into Facebook properly. Keep getting error saying “wrong username/password”. When I log into facebook online (through a regular web browser) I get a message saying that my account had an attempted access from Mexico (I am in the US). Can anyone resolve this issue?

  41. Hawky Says: July 3rd, 2010 at 2:22 pm

Facebook via Ebuddy will not work on SE X10 mini, states username/password are wrong. When connecting to FB after trying a message states that someone from USA has attempted to access the account and it has been frozen. Location UK.

is there any way to allow fb chat for ebuddy from pc cause from x10 mini it doesnt shows the allow tab. so i cant allow ebuddy to access fb chat.giv some solution.

  43. Mark Says: August 12th, 2010 at 11:36 am

I have the same problem with my SE X10 mini. I can make messenger work but I can not get the allow tab for facebook. Is there any way to fix that?

  44. Mark Says: August 12th, 2010 at 12:51 pm

Okay I have found the way to make it work. Logon with your ebuddy id on your computer and accept the terms. After that you can use facebook chat on the phone. :)
