Hello! Welcome to the eBuddy blog. Here we talk about our passion, the team and our products.

New: eBuddy Lite Messenger

Posted by Vincent on December 21st, 2007

Our first eBuddy Mobile version on m.ebuddy.com has been out there already for three years. We have seen many of you chatting with this version on your mobile phone, PSP, Playstation3, Nintendo DS, the Wii, iPhone, iPod Touch…you name it :-)

Today we launched a complete new version, built from the ground up to offer you the best chat experience on any mobile device, without having to install anything. Since it’s completely new, we decided to rename it from eBuddy Mobile Internet version to eBuddy Lite Messenger. Why we made a complete new version?

This eBuddy Lite Messenger version allows you to login all your accounts at once. Chat with your friends from all your MSN, Yahoo, AIM, and Google Talk accounts in one single buddy list! We also added Google Talk so you now also can reach those friends on your mobile.

Screenshot 1

Thanks to our eBuddy Translators you can choose your own language for the interface. 13 languages are currently supported, and counting… Choose your language once and the interface will always be displayed like this. No matter which network you chat on, all emoticons are supported :-D

Screenshot 2

You can have multiple conversations at once and add / block /delete buddy is supported.

Set your status and personal or away message. and choose to see your offline contacts in the buddylist. You can even make this Lite version xtra lite, by turning off all images.

Check out the new eBuddy Lite Messenger on m.ebuddy.com and please let us know what you think. We will be adding new features soon, so your ideas on what we should add first are very welcome!

Enjoy the new version!

Vincent

    @ Angel:

For Nintendo DS you need the DS browser and a Wifi connection. In the browser you just go to m.ebuddy.com. For more info on the browser and settings for your DS see http://www.nintendowifi.com/

For the Wii you need to download the Internet Channel. With this you can browse the internet and go to m.ebuddy.com to chat. Here is a nice video on how to get this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvI82JfM9_Q&feature=related

  11. Vincent Says: January 4th, 2008 at 3:02 pm

    @ emmanuella:

The DS browser is about 40 dollars
    (http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=nintendo+ds+browser&um=1&ie=UTF-8)

The Wifi connection costs depends on the Internet provider or Wifi Hotspot you are using.

For using eBuddy on your DS, please see my comment on top.

it takes me too much time to log-in (i only use yahoo id), at least 5 minutes, after that all works well. is there any thing i can do to log-in faster? ( i use a nokia 6300, and a unlimited data plan from my provider)… also i don`t like the fact that i can`t chat with offline contacts..the rest is very cool :) Thanks for your time!

  50. Tom Says: February 12th, 2008 at 11:44 pm

Will you be making Lite Messenger work with an LG Shine phone from AT&T?

  51. Steve Says: February 14th, 2008 at 3:07 am

At least for the PSP, can you enable cookies so that we don’t have to re-enter our password each time we visit?

Even if the site has to check user-agents I assume it wouldn’t be hard to tell that it’s a PSP, and it could be a setting that users can change after logging in too.

  52. Deyshowemshine Says: February 19th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
