@Steve If this is on your iPhone/iPod Touch it’s expected: you can choose (from Settings) to stay online for up to 1 hour and receive push notifications. If you have an issue with any of the other apps, please send an e-mail to feedback_iphone@ebuddy.com and we will look into it. Thanks.

Ivar, this is not for the iphone. It’s using the web-client. It stays online forever, not just for 1 hour.

Am on an iPod touch (1st gen) and I don’t know why it’d crash every time I start it up. It wasn’t like this before I updated. It happened after I updated - ebuddy for iPhone just wouldn’t start up. Is this a bug?

Any plans to release a windows mobile version? It’d be nice not to have to go through Java to access your software. Or at the least, make one thats compatible with 480×800 screens on WinMo.
For those experiencing a crash on launch, try what I did. Seems to fix the issue.
Delete the app. Reinstall. And do NOT check Login Automatically under your EBuddy login. You can leave the other accounts, such as MSN to login automatically.
So far I’ve had no more crash on launch.
The only minor thing is that you need to press the login button when you launch. Otherwise it works perfectly!
And just in case someone is wondering, or my post is somehow confusing, disabling the Login Automatically under the Ebuddy login doesn’t make you log out when you close the app.
So you still appear as online to your friends.
And you’ll still have Push Notifications for your specified amount of time.
It just means that the program won’t automatically reconnect to the server on relaunch, provided you’ve already logged in in the first place, of course.
So you’ll still receive push notifications, and when you open the app and login again, you’ll get all your message as normal.

Cannot change the nick. Each time eBuddy loads, it copies the nick from one of the im accs. Which one? God knows! Depends on which im acc finishes loading last? Total trash. Why can’t eBuddy main seperate nicks for separate IMs like Digsby does?

I have a problem with unblocking people.
One I blocked contacts in eBuddy on iPhone, I can’t un block them.
Even though I tried to unblock thaem using desktop MSN, when I signed in from eBuddy, the contacts are still blocked.
Would you please provide a work around for this?

I always use “mario ross” as my nickname but when I Use ebuddy it changes to “mario” only… IT HAPPENS EVERYTIME i hate it. is there a possible solution to keep my nickname. cause even when i change it insote the app if I sign out and back again surprise nickname changed again
When I click the ebuddy icon in my iPhone, it only display the logging screen couple second, then automatic exit.
It can’t work before. After I upgraded the ebuddy apps for iPhone at November 2009, it can’t work anymore.

I cant seem to unblock contacts once ive blocked them. ive logged onto msn on my comp and ublocked them but once i log in on my iphone again-they are blocked. ive deleted ebuddy and reinstalled and i still have the same problem. also i select not to hide blocked contacts yet it still does. what is the issue? what can i do to fix this??

I deleted my gtalk account from the app, achanged my password for gtalk, deleted ebuddy itself. But it still shows that I am online on gtalk to my friends with the very first status message that i posted.

For some reason my MSN contacts is not showing on ebuddy. Fbook and gmail lists are showing fine. MSN never gave me trouble until the last week. I removed the MSN account and added it back….this failed. I re-install ebuddy and it still failed to show my MSN. Is there some setting that is not allowing me to see all my MSN contacts??

Same problem as Tess and Callum here. Wifi is working, I can login with my account from a Computer, but iPhone app keeps telling me that I have no network connection.
Besides, I’ve just tried to disable automatic login then to reinstall the application: it does not solve the problem, I still get an error message from ebuddy telling me that I have no Internet connection when I try to login.
Things I’ve tried that don’t work:
1.) Re-installing
2.) Using a new EBuddy ID
3.) Disabling auto-login
Just wondering why i just paid 6 dollars for the full app when it still have adds and still when i quit and come back i have to redo my custom message and name? surely in the pro version this should save??? i agree in the light version it should reset but if we pay for the pro version we should get better features.

my iPhone 3G firmware 3.1.2 has got problem with the pop up notification or push notification. All the notification was checked “On”, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I have installed the latest eBuddy Pro. I always missed my friends’ messages when I was not at the ebuddy app, or when my iPhone was at locked mode. No notifications at all from all “new messages/chats”. Please help… URGENT!!!

I had this problem too! Unblock the contacts from gmail, msn, or whatever communicator. Then log out of ebuddy and sign back on. They should be unblocked!

My ebuddy wont sign out of gtalk. I’ve deleted ebuddy, i’ve deleted the account from my ebuddy, i’ve changed my password, I’ve swore at the computer.
Is this common problem going to be fixed???

Hi! Just wondering whenever I close a chatbox from the ebuddy app… then when I log back in next time it still shows the chat box… its only happening to two of my contacts… I had a chat with them ages ago and the chatbox still pops up
what wrong? I un-installed and re-installed but its still the same

too have the problem of gtalk being logged in from ebuddy 24*7 . It has caused a lot of problems. Please tell me the solution to fix it… I have changed my gmail password too. if any one of u above has solved this problem.. please let me know .
Hi after I did a update to latest version through apps store, I have a problem of receiving and sending out pictures . It state error could not retrieve the picture, please try again.
But i click on it again the same error message whether i am on wifi or 3G network.
Please advise.

so i can not use my messender ,,hotmail / gmail add.. causing big and manny problems …

So, why won’t contacts stay deleted when I delete them? They pretend to be deleted until i go into ebuddy again, then they’re back.
Hi, I cant sign into Gtalk on ebuddy, it just keeps saying theres an error. I have the same email and password as my msn account, could this be why? Thanks
For some reason I can’t sign into Live Messenger. It thinks i’m still logged into eBuddy on the same account. But I manually logged off both!!!
my name doesn’t change, people see my email address as my name, even when i have changed it like 20times.
I can’t log off ebuddy! and i already turned off push notifications…

I cannot delete contacts and have them STAY deleted. I log out of eBuddy and then back in (the Lite version) and that friggen ex girlfriend just keeps popping up.

I got it and it looks great, but I gatta say that it really isn’t worth the $5, it’s nice but to expensive, and it’s praticaly the same as the free ebuddy

I have one huge problem that i got as soon as i updated my ebuddy, when i log in, the buddy list starts loading, then it says it could not sign in, how can i get it to sign in again, BTW i have an ipod touch 1st gen

My ebuddy is just consistently loading it tries to auto signin and just hangs with a loading icon, can force quit or turn off with multi tasking but upon reopening the same issue occurs

I am very disappointed with ebuddy lite. I have used it for gmail, facebook, and fb chat. However, when i try to sign out, it says successful, but then I still appear as online in my friends gmail list.
To attempt to solve the problem i have attempted the following solutions:
Signed out of all accounts individually
Signed out of ‘all accounts’
Signed out of ebuddy (and closed it during multitasking in iphone 4)
Deleted my gmail account within ebuddy
Deleted ebuddy from my iphone
Yet, i still remain signed in. Please can you tell me how to sign out from gmail via ebuddy?
