You can already use eBuddy to stay in touch with your friends in many ways: on a PC, on your Google/Android phone, and many other phones – and now on the iPhone and iPod Touch too :-) .

The eBuddy for iPhone app offers you the best chat experience with reliability, speed and great features:

- One buddy list for MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, and Facebook
- Stay online when you exit the app
- Get push notifications for incoming messages when you exit the app*
- Reconnect automatically if connection is lost
- Get offline messages after reconnecting
- Get new message alerts & typing alerts in the chat screen
- Easily switch between chats by swiping your screen
- Shake your iPhone or iPod Touch to send a buzzer

* Note: Push notifications for incoming messages are only available if you have iPhone Software Version 3.0 on your device.

Other features of eBuddy for iPhone (and iPod Touch) include:

  • - Multiple accounts for each IM network
  • - Easy buddy list management
  • - Group chat support

And coming soon:

  • - Landscape mode
  • - Free and frequent updates

We already had a special browser-based iPhone/iPod Touch version of our Lite Messenger (and it will remain available), but now the eBuddy app will give you a chat experience designed especially for your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Give it a try, and don’t forget to let us know what you think! In the app simply go to ‘More’ and then ‘Tell us what you think’ to give us your feedback, or just send an email to feedback_iphone@ebuddy.com.

eBuddy is now available as a free download in the Apple App Store. Enjoy messaging everyone, everywhere on your iPhone and iPod Touch :-) !

  2. www Says: July 8th, 2009 at 2:51 pm

I wish it allow me to login longer than 30 minutes after leave the app on the iphone..

  3. Brian Says: July 8th, 2009 at 4:17 pm

Ditto what www said. This will prevent me from using eBuddy. I also wish that notifications included the message text. Other than that, the app is great.

I do think I found a small bug. When you turn off notification sounds, it seems to kill the popup notification completely. The only indication of a new message is that the badge number went up.

I can deal with the 30 min logoff for now, but not including the message text, something other apps already do, is a deal breaker for me.

Hope to see it soon, because the rest looks great.

how do i get it to quit showing all the ignored/blocked people on my yahoo list? So, all the spammers that i have blocked in the past now showup in my contacts as online…great. I delete them but they come back. I have also logged in from my computer and deleted them from there, but they come back there as well. Anyone?

    Hey guys!
Great app, however two things would make this my favourite:

    1) Landscape mode. I cannot WAIT for this! It drievs me insane!
    2)Longer push time!

Is anyone having trouble with the facebook DOB confirmation. Could it be that us little folk in the UK write our dates like DD/MM/YYYY?

I have tried it both ways (DDMMYYYY and MMDDYYYY) but neither seem to work :o(

  21. Glen J Says: July 12th, 2009 at 3:53 pm

I am having trouble finding info on how to set up group chat. How is it done on?

  22. wizzofoz Says: July 12th, 2009 at 5:00 pm

Works great, like it better then Palringo Lite!!!

    Recommendations for next release:
    1) let the “notification sound” setting be saved, it now always jumps back to the default OFF
    2) add setting for each account: display status (when I logon I do not always want to be ‘online’ and visible), a setting for each account where the default logon status can be set would be a great advantage, so I do not have to rush to the settings page after logging on ;-)
    3) landscape mode
    3) longer push mode time

  23. Berb Says: July 14th, 2009 at 10:34 am

  24. Maik Says: July 14th, 2009 at 6:17 pm

    Thanks for the great app.

As scandinavian, I noticed that scandinavian characters (ÅÄÖ, åäö) doesn’t work correctly. I mean, when I send message, receiver doesn’t get those characters correctly.

Also login to facebook doesn’t work at all. It ask my DOB, and then nothing…
