Today we would like you to meet Angelo, our iOS developer from Brazil.
Hi Angelo, please tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi everyone, my name is Angelo and I come from Brazil. I have a degree in computer science. I truly believe that mobile devices should enhance people’s lives and help them complete daily tasks.
When did you start working for eBuddy and what do you do here?
I started working here 4 months ago; I am a part of the iOS team that develops XMS.
How is your first couple of months going here? What was the most special event?
Great! My colleagues are really welcoming and I feel very comfortable here. The company’s culture and casual environment really suits me.
The most special event? I believe it was the Bowling Night. It was great fun and happened just after my arrival, making it a lot easier to meet my fellow colleagues.
What do you like doing outside your working hours?
I like playing video games, basketball, reading and watching movies and tv series. But I could skip any of those to hang around with some friends!
How is Amsterdam/the Netherlands different from where you come from?
I’m enjoying the city and country a lot. Coming from a country where we have sunny weather at least 3-4 days a week, it is really interesting to see how Dutch people embrace a sunny day and the whole country seems to be happier on a warm day.
I come from São Paulo, one city that seems to be built with cars in mind. It is really easier to live there with a car. That doesn’t seem to be the case here, as just having a bike seems to be way more attractive. I really prefer it this way.
What was the first Dutch word you learned?
“Fiets” which means bicycle. You really should have one if you live in Amsterdam.
Thanks a lot for your time, Angelo. Have a great day!
